The Sofia Shield has opened the laying of a new tunnel of the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya metro line, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.

"This is the right overpass tunnel between the stations "Zvenigorodskaya" and "Shelepikha" with a length of 553 meters. "Sofia" will pass 349 meters, another 204 builders will have to pass by mountain method", - said the capital city mayor.

The under-construction part of the branch will be united with the section "Shelepikha" - "Business Center", previously part of the Great Ring Line.

At the moment three tunnel boring complexes are working on the construction of the Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya branch. The remaining two are involved in the construction of tunnels between the stations "Boulevard of General Karbyshev" and "People's Militia".
