Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated People's Artist of the USSR Oleg Basilashvili on his 90th birthday on Thursday, September 26.
"Dear Oleg Valerianovich, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on his 90th birthday," the Russian leader 's words were quoted on the Kremlin website.
According to Putin, Basilashvili is an outstanding master of theater and cinema. He specified that the People's Artist is talented in performing his roles and devoted to art, for this he is loved by the audience.
The Russian President wished Basilashvili health, vigor and prosperity.
Since 1959 Basilashvili has been working at the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after G.A. Tovstonogov. Since 1959 Basilashvili has been working at the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater. In 1984, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR. In addition, in 2019, the actor received the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, II degree. He played more than 100 roles in films, the most famous of which were the work in the film "Autumn Marathon" by Georgy Danelia, Eldar Ryazanov's films "Service Romance", "A word about the poor Hussar" and "Station for Two".
