Two Tu-95ms missile carriers flew near the west coast of Alaska
Two strategic missile carriers Tu-95ms of long-range aviation of the Russian Air and Space Forces (VKS RF) have performed a scheduled flight in the airspace above the neutral waters of the Bering Sea, near the western coast of Alaska. This was reported by the Defense Ministry on September 24.
The fighter escort was provided by crews of Su-35s and Su-30cm aircraft of the Russian Air Force. The flight itself lasted more than 11 hours.
It is noted that long-range aviation pilots regularly make flights over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Baltic seas, as well as the Pacific Ocean. All flights of the Russian Air Force aircraft are carried out in accordance with international rules of airspace use.
Earlier, on September 11, strategic missile carriers Tu-160 of the Russian Air Force flew over the neutral waters of the Barents and Norwegian Seas as part of the Ocean-2024 exercise.
