Media reported about summoning three of Pashayev's coworkers to Moscow as witnesses
Several coworkers of ex-lawyer Elman Pashayev, arrested on charges of fraud, were summoned to Moscow from their unit in the Ugledar direction of the special operation for investigative actions. A source in the security forces of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) told RIA Novosti on September 24.
"Part of the witnesses were taken to Moscow, summoned and taken away. At least three people, as witnesses," - said the interlocutor of the agency.
At the same time the day before, as the source points out, the investigators questioned one of Pashayev's commanders in the fraud case.
September 17, it was reported that a criminal case was opened against Pashayev under Part 4 of Article 159, the amount of damage amounted to Br18.5 million and $300 thousand. According to investigators, in February, Pashayev at a meeting with the husband of blogger Elena Blinovskaya Alexei Blinovsky convinced him of his ability to release his wife from criminal liability for a large sum, which he never did after receiving the money. Pashayev and Blinovsky served together on the SVO.
"Izvestia" found that, according to the Ministry of Justice's register of lawyers, Pashayev was registered as a lawyer six times - in Krasnodar Krai, twice in Moscow, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District and twice in North Ossetia. His license has now been suspended in all regions. He does not have a valid status of a lawyer.
The next day Pashayev was taken to the military garrison court in Moscow, the ex-lawyer was decided to be detained until November 15. Later, on September 23, it was reported that Pashayev decided to appeal against his preventive measure. As the lawyer Yelena Senina told Izvestia, the human rights defender under arrest is just a physical person at the moment.
