The Russian military spoke about ways to protect our spy drones
One of the new problems at the current stage of the special military operation is FPV drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU), which are being raised as hunters of Russian reconnaissance drones of the airplane type, the deputy commander of the drone platoon with the call sign Muzykant told Izvestia.
"In such a case, everything depends on our radio-electronic reconnaissance (RER). If it detected them, then we start leaving, our flight time is longer and we can take the vehicle away. In addition, if the RER has made a trace (identified the place from where the operators control FPV-drones. - Ed.), we check it and pass it to the artillery. And it already destroys FPV-calculations", - explained the military man.
The musician also said that thanks to the improvement of aerial reconnaissance systems, the time from detection of the target to its defeat has been significantly reduced. It now takes minutes to aim, correct fire and engage a target, he explained.
"There is a fundamental difference between how artillery used to work and how it works now. Targets are both found and hit much faster. For example, if we detect a tank and see it moving east, we pass the data to the artillerymen. They calculate how long it will be at a certain turn, how long to release a shell. And under direct video control we hit even a moving tank", - said the musician.
