US President Joe Biden, whose term in office is coming to an end, is leaving the next head of the White House a world plunged into chaos. Thus, not very comfortable conditions will develop for Biden's successor, writes the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on September 23.

"It is a far more dangerous world than the one Biden inherited, and far less favorable to U.S. interests, human freedom and democracy. The latter is a tragic irony, as the president has made the global struggle between democracy and authoritarianism a recurring theme," the article noted.

The media outlet notes that authoritarian regimes in all parts of the world - Europe, Asia-Pacific (APAC), the Middle East, Africa, and even the United States itself - have advanced under the leadership of the current American leader.

The newspaper called the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan the most destructive decision of Biden. It is noted that as a result of this policy of the administration, "confidence in the U.S. deterrence system has collapsed" and the country has recorded the biggest decline in its influence in the world since the 1930s. At the same time, it is believed that the current leader of the country has achieved great success in the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to this, on September 17, American economist Jeffrey Sachs said that Biden is no longer making decisions as a leader. He noted that it is unknown whether Biden can speak coherently to Americans, but he certainly does not do so now. In addition, the economist recalled recent instances where Biden snapped at a reporter and brushed off a journalist as he walked to the presidential helicopter.

Earlier, on June 22, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that Biden would soon drag the United States into World War III. He called the current head of the White House the worst US president. According to Trump, under Biden, crime in the United States is out of control, "Europe is in chaos," and the Middle East is "exploding."

The United States, which has been in Afghanistan since 2001, began a hasty withdrawal of its troops in early May 2021. It was completed on the night of August 31 that year. Commenting on it, Trump called the event the day of the greatest disgrace in the country's history.

The next, 60th US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. The candidate from the Democratic Party is Kamala Harris, the Republican Party, in turn, will be represented by Donald Trump. The final stage of the election will be the November ballot.
