Kiev has complained about faulty Western military equipment and shells that cause damage to servicemen. This was reported by the Handelsblatt newspaper on September 23.

"The Western partner delivered real garbage," - writes the edition with reference to officials in Kiev.

It is specified that some of these shells were delivered as part of the "Czech initiative on ammunition", as well as from the United States.

In August, Ukrainian authorities notified the Czech Republic about cases of grenades exploding immediately after graduation. According to the publication, citing a letter from Ukrainian representatives, numerous grenade explosions occurred at a distance of 20 to 60 meters from the muzzle, "causing injuries to personnel and damage to artillery systems."

Earlier, on September 13, Major General Apty Alaudinov, deputy head of the main military-political department of the Russian Armed Forces and commander of the Akhmat special forces , said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) fighters in Kursk Region were experiencing difficulties with supplies, with many of them trying to leave Russian territory. He added that captured fighters complain to Russian soldiers about complete disorganization in the AFU ranks.

On August 29, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba accused Western countries of indecisiveness leading to unsuccessful actions of Ukrainian troops on the front line. He also called on the West to supply Kiev with more missiles and lift restrictions on Western weapons strikes on facilities on Russian territory.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to defend Donbass, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. However, the West has recently been increasingly vocal about the need to reduce support for Ukraine.
