Helsinki Hall owned by Russians was robbed in Finland
In Finland, unknown persons stole instruments, alcohol and a T-shirt from the Helsinki Hall sports and concert arena, which belongs to Russian businessmen. This was reported by Helsingin Sanomat on September 23, citing statements of law enforcement authorities.
Presumably, the incident occurred last Thursday. Thieves broke into the stadium and stole tools, alcohol and a valuable T-shirt.
"We've been getting reports of stolen property and it's actually various items that were quickly accessible, at least from boxes. The thieves have been to many places in the arena, but we don't yet have an accurate picture of what happened," Ville Niskanen, the lead investigator in the case, told the publication.
A video taken inside the stadium also reportedly appeared on social media last week, which was soon removed. Presumably, the stadium could have been illegally entered twice, but the police refuse to comment on these assumptions.
The publication notes that due to the lack of electricity in the arena did not work part of the security devices, which could have been used by thieves.
Helsinki Hall is owned by Russian businessmen Roman Rotenberg and Gennady Timchenko, who are under European Union (EU) sanctions.
Earlier, on November 28, 2023, it was reported that the new sanctions against Russia, which will be part of the 12th package of restrictions of the European Union , will allow to seize the sports arena in Helsinki, the owners of which are Russian businessmen. It was noted that the 12th package of sanctions will provide for the possibility for the owners of the arena caught under the restrictions to sell the frozen assets. However, in case of sale and change of ownership, the money will still remain frozen, the publication said.
