Lvova-Belova spoke about the increase in the number of appeals due to child bullying

More than 240 appeals about child bullying were received by the office of the Russian Presidential Ombudsman for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova in 2024, there is an increase in the indicator. The children's ombudsman announced this on September 23 at the presentation of the All-Russian sociological study on child safety.

"We are seeing an increase in appeals that are related to this topic, this year we received more than 240 appeals," she said.

According to Lvova-Belova, there are cases of bullying even in kindergartens, but educational organizations do not have a unified approach to this problem. At the same time, sometimes it is considered to be a case of parents and children, although the process of bullying usually begins and takes place at school, she said.

The Ombudsman expressed the opinion that it is necessary to develop a unified algorithm of actions in such situations. It will allow parents and teachers to respond correctly and minimize negative consequences, said Lvova-Belova.

On the eve it became known that the State Duma deputies are preparing a law on combating bullying in schools, according to which the teenager and his parents will be able to additionally appoint a "course of correction". In this case, the concept of "bullying" is planned to be fixed by law. It will include regular intentional actions of a minor aimed at humiliating the dignity of another person.
