Air defense assets shot down Ukrainian drone over Kursk region
A drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has been destroyed in the skies over the Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday, September 23.
"The Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was destroyed over the territory of the Kursk region by the on-duty air defense means," the statement reads.
An attempted attack using an airplane-type drone was foiled at about 13:10 Moscow time.
Earlier in the day it was reported that four AFU drones were eliminated over the Kursk region on Monday night. The same number of air defense means shot down over the territory of Belgorod region. In addition, the Russian military destroyed 35 Ukrainian drones in the special operation zone during the day.
Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
