The All-Russian light industry forum "Manufaktura 4.0" was held on September 20, 2024 in Ivanovo region. More than 300 participants, including representatives of large companies, factories and plants, designers, experts, gathered to discuss the development of the industry, according to a press release at the disposal of Izvestia.

The theme of the plenary session was "Scaling up and cooperation in the light industry: how to use existing resources to enter new markets in Russia". The session was opened by the Governor of the region Stanislav Voskresensky. The head of the region reminded that Ivanovo region is the locomotive of the Russian light industry, more than 80% of Russian cotton fabrics, 3/4 of knitted fabrics, 80% of bed linen and more than 60% of overalls are produced here. And today, he said, the main challenge for the industry is to produce the necessary fabrics.

"There is room for growth here. And in this regard, the Strategy for the Development of the Light Industry of Russia needs to be updated. We have agreed with the Ministry of Industry and Trade that the Ministry of Industry and Trade together with the government of the Ivanovo region and the largest companies will update this strategy," Voskresensky said.

During the plenary session, the experts also discussed such issues as attracting the younger generation to production processes, creating original products, and building independence from foreign countries. Thus, Vera Khmyrova, Director of the Department of Light Industry and Forestry Complex of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, noted consolidation of light industry participants among the most important tasks.

"We must build strong chains, starting from the production of raw materials and ending with finished products, including retail, buyers, marketers, researchers and designers in this process. Only by joining hands can we breathe new life into the light industry and create the conditions for technological sovereignty. These are not just words, this is our common goal, without which it is impossible to imagine a competitive future on both domestic and international markets," she emphasized.

The Manufaktura 4.0 Forum is a major industry event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Ivanovo Region and the Agency for Attracting Investment in the Region.
