The Russian military shot down 35 drones, an ATACMS missile and three Neptun missiles belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the special operation zone. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on September 23.

"Air defense means shot down an operational-tactical missile ATACMS made by the United States, three long-range guided missiles "Neptune", two guided aerial bombs Hammer made by France, a rocket projectile HIMARS made by the United States and 35 unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, the Russian military hit personnel and military equipment of the Ukrainian army in 135 areas with drones, operational-tactical aviation, missiles and artillery.

Earlier in the day, drone operators told Izvestia about the features of the Zala drone. It is actively used both for reconnaissance of targets and for destroying military equipment of the AFU with precise strikes. In addition, the drone can be used to adjust artillery fire. If Zala loses communication during reconnaissance and cannot transmit video, it records it on a memory card, so no data is lost.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
