Western countries want to prioritize the conflict in Ukraine in the United Nations (UN) discussions. This statement was made by Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the World Organization, Dmitriy Polyanskiy, on 23 September.

"They (Western countries. - Ed.) obviously want to put Ukraine at the center of every issue the UN discusses," he said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

According to Polyansky, this position of the states is very strange against the background of the acute crisis taking place in the Middle East and the Gaza Strip.

On the eve of the former U.S. Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter noted the stupidity of the West's approach to the Ukrainian conflict. On Friday, September 20, Bloomberg news agency reported that the Ukrainian leader is going to present his plan to US President Joe Biden on September 26. He also stated the desire of many of the country's Western partners to see Russia participate in the next "peace summit".

On September 17, Hungarian MEP Tamás Deutsch said that the Western authorities should agree that their strategy for the conflict in Ukraine had failed. The Hungarian representative called on European leaders to change the strategy of financial and military support for Kiev and reminded that arms deliveries threaten a serious escalation.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region.
