Soldiers of the Center group told about the features of the Zala drone
The Zala unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a universal reconnaissance tool, thanks to which servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) are bringing new victories by destroying dozens of Ukrainian army vehicles. On September 23, drone operators told Izvestia about the peculiarities of drone control.
The Zala drones not only detect but also destroy with precise strikes the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) military equipment manufactured in Western countries, including howitzers, self-propelled vehicles, tanks, and air defense installations.
According to servicemen, the Zala controls may seem unfamiliar at first, but the period of adaptation to the control system usually takes no more than a week and a half.
"Then you sort out where the bush is, where the gun is. They don't move through the air. You can see the tracks, the knurls, the bushes are dry. If a towed gun, you can see the barrel sticking out. You can also see the gunfire (a scorched powder stain that occurs when equipment is fired. - Ed.)," explained the operator of the Zala UAV of the Center group of troops with the call sign Muzykant.
The work of reconnaissance units using the Zala drone is comparable to hunting, as the scouts are required not only to detect the target, but also to promptly transmit its coordinates to the control center. At the same time, fire correction based on the data received from Zala is carried out without difficulty.
"The frame of the correlator clings to the object, and the camera itself becomes stationary. It fixes on a certain object and observes it. There is also an escort for a moving object. If you get a hold of it, it moves, and the camera follows it," said Sputnik UAV operator Valentin Trushnin in a conversation with Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushnin.
In addition, the drone has proven itself in situations when communication is lost, due to the Zala software, which continues to record on a memory card the environment around it, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the video upon the UAV's return.
Earlier, on September 20, the Defense Ministry reported that the latest Molniya UAV, which is extremely effective in combat and assaults, played a significant role in the liberation of the village of Georgievka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This drone is equipped with a homing head that simplifies the targeting process. The drone is also resistant to electronic warfare (EW) systems, as the device is capable of reaching the target on its own.
