The crew of an Mi-28NM helicopter of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) attacked concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) personnel in one of the border areas of Kursk Region. On September 23, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the crew's combat operations.
As the ministry noted, the strike on the reconnaissance positions of the Ukrainian army was carried out using air missiles. After the targets were hit, the helicopter crew returned to the departure site.
According to the reconnaissance unit, the AFU personnel and armored vehicles were successfully destroyed.
Earlier, on September 21, the Defense Ministry reported that army aviation crews on Russian Army Ka-52M helicopters destroyed personnel and equipment of Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the border area of Kursk Region.
Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The operation to destroy the AFU continues. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
