The Magadan submarine returned to Vladivostok after performing combat service tasks
The diesel-electric submarine Magadan has returned to its home base in Vladivostok after fulfilling combat service tasks. This was reported by the press service of the Pacific Fleet (POF) on September 23.
The unit of the Primorsky Flotilla met the crew of the returned submarine with solemn events and traditional for such an occasion dish - roast piglet. The Chief of Staff of the Talnakh Concentration Fleet, Vice-Admiral Sergey Rekish received a report from the submarine commander, Captain II Rank Yevgeny Stsiborovsky, on the successful fulfillment of the task and congratulated the sailors on their return home.
The submariners who distinguished themselves during the service received certificates of merit, as well as state and departmental awards. The event was attended by fellow servicemen, representatives of veteran organizations, relatives and friends of the sailors.
The submarine "Magadan" was at sea for more than 40 days. The crew of the submarine after a short rest is awaiting a scheduled combat training service of the Pacific Fleet.
Magadan is the third diesel-electric submarine for the Pacific Fleet capable of carrying Kalibr high-precision cruise missiles. Magadan was accepted into the Talnakh Concentrator Fleet in October 2021 in St. Petersburg.
Earlier, on September 16. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the nuclear-powered submarine cruisers "Emperor Alexander III" and "Krasnoyarsk" to build up the Pacific Fleet's force grouping made an under-ice crossing in the Arctic as part of the strategic command and staff exercise "Ocean-2024".
