Russian and Lao servicemen held a joint training session in Primorsky Krai
A joint training exercise between servicemen of the Russian Federation and the Lao People's Democratic Republic has started at the Sergeevsky training range in Primorsky Krai. The Defense Ministry published footage of the exercise on September 23.
The complex of exercises, which will begin on September 25, is part of the joint Russian-Laotian military exercise "Laros-2024", within the framework of which the servicemen of the Eastern Military District (EMD) and the Lao People's Army practice skills.
As noted in the department, during the exercise, the military will study the routes of tactical groups, terrain features, as well as work out the organization of communication between units. In addition, the servicemen will approve common control and interaction signals for both sides.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Laos will also work out the issues of negotiation process in case of a terrorist attack, evacuation of civilians and clearing the territory from illegal armed groups.
Among the units of the Air Defense Forces are tank crews, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), special forces, air defense, communications, electronic warfare (EW) and radiation, chemical and biological defense (RCB), as well as part of the Russian Aerospace Forces' (VKS) attack and army aviation forces, while the Lao army will be represented by motorized rifle units, special purpose groups, technical communications support and unmanned aircraft.
Earlier, on September 17, coast guard ships of the People's Republic of China (PRC) arrived in Vladivostok to conduct joint exercises and patrols with the Border Guard Department of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in Primorsky Krai.
