The cause of poisoning of a family in Krasnoyarsk region, who ate dumplings and chicken for dinner, was an unidentified toxic substance. This was reported on September 22 in the Main Department of the Investigative Committee (Main Department of the Investigative Committee) of Russia in the region and the Republic of Khakassia.
As a result of poisoning three children died.
"According to preliminary data of experts, their deaths occurred due to the toxic effect of an unspecified substance. Additional studies will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the agency.
At the moment, the parents and another child are in intensive care. Their condition is assessed as stably serious.
Law enforcement authorities are continuing the criminal investigation. They questioned relatives of the family, the owner and the seller of the grocery store, as well as seized video footage from surveillance cameras.
The poisoning of a family with four children in the village of Krasnaya Sopka in Krasnoyarsk Krai was reported on September 21. The family sought medical help at the hospital with signs of nausea and vomiting. As a result of a sharp deterioration of health, the minor brother and sister died. Later on September 22, a third child died. Adults and another child were hospitalized in serious condition.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was opened under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production, storage or sale of goods and products that do not meet the safety requirements of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence").
The State Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region said that the products, which are believed to have poisoned the family, were bought in one of the stores in the village, its owner was questioned and the products were seized. The agency said that the mother of the dead children is nine months pregnant.
According to Izvestiya's source, the family members may have mistakenly consumed pesticides, confusing them with seasoning.
