Kiev blogger Pasha Bumchyk has fled to Romania after receiving a summons from the military recruitment center. This was reported by Strana.ua in its Telegram channel on September 22.

According to the Ukrainian publication, Bumchik published a video of his passage across the border of Ukraine to Romania in the social network Instagram (owned by the corporation Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia). The blogger also showed a summons, which says that he had to report to the military enlistment office on September 14. The man said that he did not do so, but crossed the Carpathians and ended up in Bucharest.

Earlier, on September 6, Ukrainian evaders attempted to escape to Belarus through a minefield. The men "almost blew themselves up."

Before that, on August 17, a Slovakian citizen was detained in Ukraine, who transported men of draft age out of the country. A check revealed that he had already been detained in 2022 due to the same illegal actions. In March 2024, the court sentenced the Slovak to five years in prison with a probation period of two years.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, signed the law tightening mobilization on April 16. The document specifies the categories of persons subject to mobilization and toughens penalties for evading it, but it does not contain any provisions on demobilization.

Martial law has been in force in the country since February 2022. At the same time, Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are forbidden to leave the country.
