The State Duma (Duma) is preparing a law on combating bullying in schools, according to which a teenager and his parents will be able to additionally assign a "course of correction". This was reported on September 22 by the newspaper RBC with reference to the author of the document, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy Artem Metelev.

It is specified that such a course may include both work with a psychologist and participation in social volunteer projects.

According to the newspaper, the bill will spell out the definition of the concept of "bullying". It will include regular intentional actions of a minor aimed at humiliating the dignity of another person.

"The key task of the bill is not only to introduce responsibility for the organizers of bullying, but also to correct their behavior and change their life beliefs," he added, noting that employees of the juvenile affairs commission, psychologists and representatives of public organizations will be involved in correcting teenagers

Metelev believes that parents should also take part in activities aimed at correcting "aggressors" and not encourage the child's position by their inaction.

Earlier, on August 21, teacher and founder of the online school "Point of Knowledge" Andrei Sheludko noted the importance of student's adaptation to school after the summer vacation and appreciated the attention and participation of parents in this process. He noted that in a calm state without anxiety and tension, they adapt to school faster and learn the material more effectively.
