A series of gadget explosions in Lebanon is causing serious concern around the world, as there are now fears that mobile devices could be turned into weapons. American journalist and author Max Blumenthal said this, expressing his belief that Israel is a threat to all humanity and that the mobile device bombings are a message to American politicians.

"Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah said after Israel assassinated one of his close aides, Fouad Shukr, that [any] cell phone is a weapon. He said <...> that if you are looking for an Israeli agent, look in your cell phone," noted the journalist on the YouTube channel Judge Napolitano - Judging Freedom on September 20, adding that this was a kind of order to throw away cell phones and buy pagers, which were eventually turned into weapons themselves.

According to Blumenthal, Israel has shown by its actions that it is a threat to the entire world. The journalist believes that the explosions of mobile devices are a message to US politicians.

"If you somehow rise to the level where they want to eliminate you and get to a position of national leadership, they will do it to you. And it can be any of your devices. Your morning grapefruit can explode in your face. They'll do it, and they'll get away with it. And your own government will do nothing because they are bribed," the journalist concluded.

Meanwhile, on September 22, Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog said that Tel Aviv was not involved in the explosion of pagers in Lebanon, because it does not want to go to war with him. The head of state specified that the Shiite Hezbollah movement has many ill-wishers who are capable of such a thing.

On September 21, the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced the risk of escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border into a regional conflict. It was noted that the UN mission is working intensively to prevent tensions.

On September 17, many people were seriously injured in pager explosions in Beirut and southern Lebanon. The next day, various wireless devices exploded in cars and on motorcycles. These were portable radios, which were different from pagers. Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah representatives blamed Israel for the explosions. The number of wounded exceeded 4 thousand, 400 people are in serious condition, at least 37 died.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip, as well as invaded the border areas in the south of the country and took hostages. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
