A family poisoned near Krasnoyarsk may have consumed pesticides by mistake
Family members, poisoned the day before in the village of Krasnaya Sopka, Nazarovsky district, Krasnoyarsk region, may have mistakenly consumed pesticides in food, confusing them with seasoning. This was reported by the source of "Izvestia" on September 22.
According to the source, investigators are working out all versions of the incident.
The Investigative Committee (IC) for the region also said it had seized food and other substances from the store and from the family's home.
"A forensic medical examination has been appointed and is being conducted to establish the cause of death of the children. Witnesses are being questioned in the criminal case", - stated in the message of the agency in the Telegram-channel.
It is specified that in the framework of the investigation has already questioned a man who is the owner of the grocery store, where the family bought products. The store sells, among other things, semi-finished products and meat products.
On September 21, the authorities received a statement from the medical center. As the investigation found out, the family sought medical help at the hospital with signs of nausea and vomiting. As a result of a sharp deterioration of health, two minor children died. On Sunday, September 22, a third child died. The parents and another child are in the hospital in a stable serious condition. It also became known that the mother of the children is nine months pregnant.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was opened under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production, storage or sale of goods and products that do not meet the safety requirements of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of two persons by negligence").
