The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost over 16,000 troops and 126 tanks during the fighting in the Kursk region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on September 22.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat work of drone units in the Kursk region. This unit performs the tasks of reconnaissance and artillery fire correction, conducts video recording of the fire damage of enemy objects and shoots AFU equipment. In addition, these calculations use attack drones to attack the Ukrainian army's manpower and equipment.

Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The operation to destroy the AFU continues. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
