On September 22, the Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the combat work of unmanned aerial vehicle units of the "North" group of troops in the border area of Kursk Region.

Servicemen from the UAV squads in the border area of the Kursk Region carry out reconnaissance, adjust artillery fire, conduct video recording of fire strikes against the facilities and equipment of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as inflict fire damage on the enemy's combat vehicles and manpower.

"The platoon carries out tasks to detect the enemy and destroy with kamikaze drones. They work only one way. You can make the drops reusable, but I think it is more effective to load a large ammunition and send it to its destination. We call it 'giving gifts to the enemies,'" said the UAV platoon commander with the call sign Khan.

As the agency notes, the fighters are equipped with the most modern drones. Every day they go out on missions. They operate day and night. UAVs are equipped with special cameras to work in the dark. In the course of aerial reconnaissance, the UAV calculations identify the locations of the enemy's equipment and manpower, after which they transmit the coordinates to the calculations of attack drones and continue to monitor the AFU fighters.

According to the platoon's sapper engineer with the call sign Altay, the fighters can hit both enemy manpower and light armor.

"To hit more armored vehicles, there is a shaped charge. It burns the tank's armor," he said.

As the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Malek noted, there are a lot of targets. Fighters go to the point, practice their tasks and return to the point of temporary deployment.

On the same day, the Defense Ministry showed footage of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) calculations of the grouping of troops "South", which attacked the shelter of AFU servicemen in the Donetsk direction. Unmanned aviation, including drop quadrocopters and attack UAVs, is actively used by the Russian army in the special operation zone to destroy the AFU's manpower and equipment.

A drone equipped with an explosive device, having conducted reconnaissance and identified a priority target, made a precise strike on the shelter of AFU servicemen.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
