In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region are shooting a historical detective action movie "Rooks", where famous actors will perform unexpected roles. Participants in the work on the series September 22, told about the details of filming.
The action of the series unfolds in 1947. Shooting started in one of the dacha settlements in the Moscow region, where you did not have to create scenery, because there is already an entourage that corresponds to the postwar era. For example, one of the houses in which the plot lives a negative character, a German spy posing as a citizen of the USSR, whose role is played by actor Alexei Makarov.
"Any actor dreams of getting out of the established role. That's why it doesn't scare me. A scoundrel is such a scoundrel. In my opinion, it will be even more interesting," Makarov shared.
The actor pointed out that each action of his hero is verified as a move in a chess game. The German spy is strong and cunning, during the war he was deputy head of the children's concentration camp "Rooks". Initially, the role of this character tried actor Artem Tkachenko, but the creators of the series went to experiment and gave Tkachenko an unusual role - he will play a police captain who works on the investigation of a chain of brutal murders in Leningrad and gradually comes out on the trail of the German spy. Tkachenko said that he is working on a change of role.
In total, the series has 146 characters who will appear in more than 150 locations. In "Rooks" will play and such well-known actors as Alexei Serebryakov, Daria Balabanova and Evgenia Dmitrieva. Historical consultants are involved in the filming process to make sure that the era is accurately portrayed.
"We have a department that is responsible for historical accuracy. In the details, in general, and the quality of the movie is manifested. In all sorts of ashtrays, cigarettes, watches. So there will be historical accuracy. Do not doubt," - said the director of the series Ilya Maximov.
In addition, the picture will shoot rarity models of military equipment, which are still on the move.
The series will be very dynamic, with many special effects and complex elements, so the actors must be in good physical shape. General producer of "Rooks" Olga Pogodina indicated that Makarov had to lose weight for the role, and Tkachenko is waiting for a lot of stunts. In the shooting will be engaged and stuntmen, who will replace the actors in the most dangerous moments. Stuntman Stanislav Kiselevsky shared that the work on the series brings him real joy.
Filming of the series began on September 19. The film company "Pimanov and Partners" is working on them. In addition to St. Petersburg, work on "Rooks" will be held in Vyborg, New Ladoga and on Lake Ladoga. Television premiere of the project will be held on REN TV channel.
