Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) of the Southern Group of Forces have attacked a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) shelter in the Donetsk region. On September 22, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of the Russian military's combat work.

Unmanned aviation, including drop quadrocopters and strike UAVs, is actively used by the Russian Army in the special operation zone to destroy the AFU's manpower and equipment.

A drone equipped with an explosive device, having conducted reconnaissance and identified a priority target, made a precise strike on the shelter of AFU servicemen.

The Russian military perform similar tasks on a daily basis, destroying dozens of servicemen and units of enemy equipment per day. Combat work does not stop day or night in any weather conditions: such efficiency is facilitated by thermal imaging cameras, which are installed on the copters.

Earlier, on September 20, the Defense Ministry reported that in the liberation of the village of Georgievka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), a significant role was played by the latest Molniya UAVs, which are extremely effective in combat and assaults. This drone is equipped with a homing head that simplifies the targeting process. The drone is also resistant to electronic warfare (EW) systems, as the device is capable of reaching the target on its own.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
