Vadim Volt commanded artillery unit destroyed AFU personnel and ammunition supplies
An artillery unit under the command of Guards junior sergeant Vadim Volt successfully destroyed two guns, ammunition and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). On September 22, the Russian Defense Ministry described the exploits of the Russian military.
After aerial reconnaissance reported to the junior sergeant about the deployment of Ukrainian units' artillery, Volt promptly handed over firing rigs, aimed the guns at targets and carried out firing missions.
As a result of firing at the targets, two AFU guns were destroyed, including ammunition and manpower. Having suffered losses, the Ukrainian servicemen retreated.
Thanks to the professionalism of the calculation under the leadership of Volt, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation held the defense and pushed back the positions of the AFU.
The agency also told about the deputy platoon commander, Junior Sergeant Alexander Smirnov, who saved the lives of his fellow servicemen.
The junior sergeant's unit came under massive artillery and mortar fire, as a result of which Smirnov and other servicemen received shrapnel wounds.
Using tactical medicine skills, the deputy platoon commander administered first aid to himself, then to his subordinates before carrying them to safety and continuing to fight. After the Russian military repelled the AFU attack, Smirnov evacuated his fellow soldiers to the rear area and handed them over to medics.
On the eve of the Defense Ministry reported that a group of attackers under the command of Junior Sergeant Roman Gartok successfully repulsed a stronghold of the AFU in one of the directions of the special operation, after which the fighters were able to repel several counterattacks of the enemy. The agency also noted the work of the Msta-S self-propelled howitzer under the leadership of Guards Sergeant Artem Deyev, who deprived the Ukrainian military of artillery support and allowed the Russian military to hold the occupied defense lines.
The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
