People's Artist of Russia, opera singer Vladislav Verestnikov has died at the age of 77. This was reported by the press service of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater (GABT) of Russia to TASS on September 21.
According to the agency's interlocutor, Verestnikov died of a severe prolonged illness. The date and place of the artist's farewell are unknown.
During his career Verestnikov performed more than 30 roles in operas by Russian and foreign composers. In addition, he taught students the art of solo singing.
The artist was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1988 and the title of People's Artist of Russia in 1994.
